This will be my fifth pair of Hoka's. Every pair so far has had the back inside of the shoe come apart and expose the plastic behind it. This will be my last try. I reached out to Hoka and received no help. It seems like because that is the area that rubs your heal when you take off the shoe or put it on the material is just tearing apart. My most recent sneaker is about 6 months old. I hope this Bondi 8 works because I really like the comfort of the sneaker. If it works, I will come back and change my rating, however the manufacturer will not stand behind the sneaker so buyer beware.

I've had the Bondi 8 for about a week and walked 42 miles so far. The one problem I experienced was the semi-gusseted tongue. I have a high arch and I underpronate. The tongue was pulling to one side which was causing pain in the instep area of my arch. I decided to cut the elastic to eliminate the "gusset". After I did this, the instep pain went away and the tongue stays in place. Other than that issue, the shoe is great and is very comfortable. Actually, it's more comfortable than the Bondi 7. I am hoping that the Bondi 8 is a lot more durable than the Bondi 7. Because of my underpronation, I am a heal striker. The tread on the lateral side of the heal on the Bondi 7 started wearing out after about 70 miles and was completely smooth by 150 miles. This happened on all three pairs of the Bondi 7 that I owned.

I wasn't the biggest fan of the Bondi 7's but the Bondi 8's fixed all my gripes and then some! I tie my shoes each entry and the 7'a heel cup would still bunch up on me, but not the case with the 8's. I don't need a wide shoe but 7's would pinch the outside of my foot, and the Bondi 8's feel like they are cradling the outside of my foot, it's a pleasant, supportive feeling.
The Bondi 8 looks much better, the laces are stronger, and it has improved almost every aspect that I had issues with on the Bondi 7's. I can am extremely pleased with the Bondi 8's, they live up to the expectations I have when I invest my money in a pair of Hokas. Well done!

I got mine today. Hit the ground walking. Then I hit the treadmill.. Yes.. still cushiony.. My bunion loves them. They are lighter weight. I was skeptical because I said they couldn't top the 7's. They did it. I wear the men's because of my bunion. Just the right width for me. I got the black ones because I am a New Yorker and the front is a different. Makes my feet look smaller. The tread at the bottom is improved. It has more meat to the tread. Go out and buy them.....

I have ran in all brand shoes and I have had many versions of Bondis. These are the best yet. I like these better than the Bondi X. I had been running in a minimal shoe , however, I have been having some knee pain recently. Since changing to these I have had no knee pain. Thanks Hoka!!!
